AC Milan have been handed a 1-0 win against Roma at the Stadio San Paolo.
Milan started brightly and came away with a deserved goal after just five minutes.
The first was a delightful move from Alessandro Nesta to the feet of Marcelo in the area.
Nesta then went to the far post and saw his shot saved by Andrea Barzagli, but the ball fell kindly for the back of the net.
With seven minutes left, Milan had another chance when Romain Alessandrini had an effort cleared off the line by Alessandro Mancini.
Mancini was also at the receiving end of a shot from the spot after another quick counter.
Roma’s second effort was blocked by Barzaglini, but Milan’s second was saved by Giorgio Chiellini.
Milans substitute Gianluca Zambrotta then had an opportunity to put the game beyond Roma with a shot that was saved.
After the restart, a shot by Alessandrino had his right boot hit the crossbar by Baragli, and it looked like the hosts were going to take the lead when Mancinelli was denied by the posts.
Milano came away from the match having won the game 1-2.
